When Eri's team lands, tribes of humans attack and Eri is saved by Striver, the descendant of a colonist and a pirate from Old Earth's colonization efforts in other parts of the galaxy. Striver helps Eri rescue her team and they are drawn to each other despite their different allegiances. While Striver battles with trusting Eri, Eri must decide whether to warn him and his people about the commander's intentions, or follow orders and complete her mission.

This is a wonderful journey of science-fiction and romance. Space travel, swamp-like planet and dangerous creatures, are just some of what you will encounter in this terrific book. Aubrie has descriptive powers that bring this story to the forefront. The story sweeps you away into a story rich in detail and then some. Reading about Striver's people and what had happened to them when they arrived on the planet, was so interesting. Our hero in this novel is incredible, but Eri leaves an impression.   Striver and Eri's romance grows slowly, but very unique, left me with a warm fuzzy feeling. Excellent story, a must read this fall.
