Review: Sparks Fly by Katie MacAlister

May 18, 2012

A Novel of the Light Dragons
As with all of Katie MacAlister's books, I so lost myself in the reading of this tale!

While trying to solve the riddle of the First Dragon regarding her grump of a mate, lovely Ysolde is trying to get Baltic to join the local dragon weyr, save her precocious human son Brom from her murderous ex, find a missing phylactery to trade for a hidden light sword, redecorate a house that makes the Addams family house look like a mansion, keep a shade from wooing her and fighting another dragon in her entry at said fright house, keep a murdering necromancer from stealing the hidden light sword and try and bring forth HER hidden inner dragon. *sigh* never was a woman so put upon as Ysolde de Bouchier, even being resurrected from the dead wasn't this much fuss!.

I was rocking and laughing my way through this finish of the Light Dragon's book. Baltic is still a grump and Ysolde is still the loving airhead(NOT) that she's always been...Quote time: I have no idea what the original color of the paint was, but now it was basically the color of putty. Mildewed putty on which a dog had thrown up.

And when you read the pages of the fall down laughing on the floor episode of Constantine, Ysolde and the First Dragon together in the sex toy shop...be prepared...you've heard of death from laughter? This scene could do it *smirk*!!!
