Movie Review: Destination Wedding (2018)

Oct 19, 2018

DESTINATION WEDDING reunites two of Hollywood’s most adored stars, Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder, as the socially awkward Frank and Lindsay. When they meet on their way to a destination wedding in Paso Robles, they soon discover they have a lot in common: they both hate the bride, the groom, the wedding, themselves, and most especially each other. As the weekend's events continually force them together – and their cheerlessness immediately isolates them from the other guests - Frank and Lindsay find that if you verbally spar with someone long enough, anything can happen. When debate gives way to desire, they must decide which is stronger: their hearts or their common sense.

Directed by Victor Levin. Starring Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder

I have to give Destination Wedding a thumbs up!  Although, I found myself, at times,  completely perplexed with these two characters.  I could not stop watching their strained, awkward banter. Frank and Lindsay must be the most annoying and perfectly matched bizarre couple of the year. The perfect pairing. Witty and at times dull conversation create this strange romantic cocoon where Lindsay and Frank's relationship develops with Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo as the backdrop. If you are looking for a nutty romantic comedy, then you just might enjoy Destination Wedding.

If you are wondering where San Luis Obispo is located on the map, it's in California!
Wine country, baby!

There is most definitely a September wine tasting trip in my future.
