I can't wait for this 8 episode series. Airing on Sunday night on HBO, Sharp Objects is getting lots of attention. The series is based on one of Gillian Flynn's first books, so I hope its as good as other adaptations. The series will be directed by Jean-Marc Vallée (Big Little Lies).
Amy Adams will be playing the part of Camille Preaker, a reporter that goes back to her home town to cover a string of child murders. Camille has ghost in her closet and going back hometo engage with family is sending her to places she thought she'd never return to. This will be Amy's first first time as an executive producer.
I love a good whodunnit and Flynn, who helped write the script, never disappoints.
Sharp Objects will end all the episodes with a mental health and substance abuse PSA. I think that any opportunity to discuss mental health and substance abuse is welcome. It is a subject that needs to be brought to the forefront in our society.
