Fairy tales aren't ever what they seem . . .
Tuesday
Knight's dream of Broadway stardom has flopped, leaving her unemployed
and brokenhearted. Ready to quit kissing frogs and make her own
happily-ever-after, she takes a job as a princess in Everland, Georgia's
historical amusement park.
Mayor Beau Marino lives an
unenchanted existence-all work, no play-which is fine by him. After his
marriage ended in disaster, the last thing he wants in his life is more
drama. But Everland's new free spirit has a talent for getting under his
starched collar.
When the town's beloved but bankrupt park might
be shut down, Tuesday and Beau face a choice. Can they join forces,
save the day-and each other? Or will their fierce battle of wills
destroy any chance of a fairy-tale ending?
In the tradition of New York Times
bestselling authors Kristan Higgins, Jill Shalvis, and Marina Adair,
comes the second book in Lia Riley's Everland, Georgia series about two
city sisters finding love in a small town.
4-4.5 STARS
Oh how I loved revisiting Everland, Georgia! Lia Riley’s books are such a joy for me to read. I loved this opposites attract story about Tuesday Knight, a free-spirited woman and Beau Marino, the workaholic, responsible, serious town Mayor.
Beau had a terrible marriage in the past and isn’t looking for a relationship, especially with a woman like Tuesday Knight. She’s everything he’s not. If he’s going to get back in the dating game, he wants someone just like him. But there’s something about her that gets under his skin and he’s having trouble fighting his attraction. Tuesday doesn’t want to have feelings for someone with the likes of Beau either, but that’s proving to be a lost cause.
When the two of them work towards the same goal of saving Ever After Land, the town’s amusement park and Beau trying to get the coveted “Coastal Jewel” designation (something that could help their town immensely with tourism), it gets harder to deny what’s between them. But there are some people working against them and secrets from Tuesday’s past that could threaten any chance they have. Will they be able to look past their differences and see that they could be good for each other?
This small-town contemporary romance was such a delight to read! I really enjoyed Beau and Tuesday’s story!
