Blood Guard is the first book in Megan Erickson’s Mission Series and I really enjoyed it! I’ve always loved the paranormal genre, vampires being one of my favorites. Megan Erickson is also one of my auto-buy authors, so I was very much looking forward to reading this new series. I love that she writes in multiple genres; contemporary, M/M and paranormal!
I really liked both of the main characters.Tendra was a kick-ass heroine and I loved her personality. Athan was so protective of Tendra and she gets to him like no other human or vampire ever has. They are drawn to each other right from the beginning. But Tendra is promised to his brother, the future king. She is destined to be the queen of the clan. As they journey together to Athan’s family compound and try and fight off the bad vampires, it gets harder and harder for them to deny what’s between them. Will Athan be able to let her go when they reach the compound?
A storyline that I was into from the very beginning and a few surprises, Blood Guard is a great start to Megan’s new series. Definitely looking forward to the next book!
