Medusa by Sasha Summers Birthday Bash!

May 12, 2013

Character Bio: Poseidon

Name: Poseidon

Age: Immortal - he’s been around and ruling for a long long time.

General physical description: See above - he’s pretty yummy. All muscled gloriousness (he is an Olympian) with a chip on his shoulder. So, bad boy all the way! Like Athena, he has that impressive presence and aura that announces his status as deity.

God of: The Sea - including the weather and earth; tamer of horses; fertility

Forefathers: One of the original six, his parents were Cronus and Rhea

Relationship status: A different lady for each day of the week... He’s a player

Dress style: Bare chested (likes to show off what he’s got), tunic, robes, and his Triton

Religion: Poseidon is pretty much into himself - he thinks everyone should worship him

Attitude to religion: He likes to be worshipped and takes full advantage of it whenever possible

Favorite pastimes/Hobbies: Woman, mayhem, and women... and mischeif

Favorite foods: Nectar and ambrosia - Olympian fare

Strongest positive personality trait: When push comes to shove, he will back his family

Strongest negative personality trait: He’s selfish - he wants what he wants, no matter what

Sense of humor: He’s very mischievous and loves to laugh - not at himself so much

Temper: Oh YEAH

Consideration for others: Um, only after he gets what he wants

How other people see him: He is revered... but whether from fear or respect is left up to the reader

Other traits: Very passionate - about everything (not just women)

Ambitions: To overthrow Zeus and rule Olympus - sometimes. Other times, it’s just causing havoc and conquering women.

Philosophy of life:  Take what you want and guilt is for the weak

Most important thing to know about this character: He isn't a bad guy, really, he’s more or less a massive, over-sexed child.

Will readers like or dislike this character, and why? They will love to hate him. I think he’s the character I get the most follow-up questions about. EVERYONE wants him to ‘get his just desserts’ - :)

Book Blurb:

It's said love can change a person. Medusa wasn't always a monster...

Medusa is ruled by duty, to her Titan father and the Goddess Athena. She's no room for the tenderness her warrior guard, Ariston, stirs. When Olympus frees her from service, her heart leads her into the arms of the guard she loves... and curses her as the creature with serpent locks.

Ariston goes to war with a full heart... and dreadful foreboding. He learns too late of the danger Medusa faces, alone, and a Persian blade sends him into the Underworld. But death, curses, nor the wrath of the Gods will keep him from returning to her.

Poseidon will use Greece's war to get what he wants: Medusa. He does not care that she belongs to another. He does not care that she will be damned. He is a God, an Olympian, and she will be his.

 Author’s Bio & Picture:

Sasha is part gypsy. Born June 9, 1974, stories have always played an important role in her life. Her passions have always been storytelling, Hollywood, history, and travel. It’s no surprise that her books include a little of each. Her first play, ‘Greek Gods and Goddesses’ was written for her Girl Scout troupe. She’s been writing ever since. She loves getting lost in the worlds and characters she creates; even if she frequently forgets to run the dishwasher or wash socks when she’s doing so. Luckily, her four brilliant children and hero-inspiring hubby are super understanding and supportive.
