The Elder Races
When Grace Andreas's sister, Petra, and her husband are both killed, Grace inherits the Power and responsibilities of the Oracle of Louisville, as well as her sister's two young children--neither of which she is prepared for. Then Khalil, Demonkind and Djinn Prince of House Marid, decides to make himself a part of the household both as guardian and counterpoint to Grace's impudence towards the Elder Races.
Cindy's Review:
Grace Andreas has inherited the responsibilities of Oracle after her sister, her brother-in-law and she are hit head on by a semi. Leaving Grace as guardian to her 4 year old daughter, Chloe and her 9 month old son, Max. Also on her list of things to do is care for the house and acreage. And how can she be available for the children and do her Oracle work with no money coming in to put food on the table. Now add to Grace's headache with one devastatingly handsome Djinn, Kahlil, who is attached to precocious Chloe. During his visits, Kahlil sees the beauty of Grace and wishes to spend more time with her. When someone searches through Grace's papers, and people who volunteer to work for the Oracle start treating her as a pariah, Grace tries to understand why! This has some of the most charming interaction between a master Djinn and an honest, good woman. Of course sparks fly
