Review: Break Out by Nina Croft

Jan 5, 2012

Book 1
A Blood Hunter Novel
The year is 3048, Earth is no longer habitable, and man has fled to the stars where they’ve discovered the secret of immortality—Meridian. Unfortunately, the radioactive mineral is exorbitantly expensive and only available to a select few. A new class comprised of the super rich and immortal soon evolves. The Collective, as they’re called, rule the universe.

Two-thousand-year-old Ricardo Sanchez, vampire and rogue pilot of the space cruiser, El Cazador, can’t resist two things: gorgeous women and impossible jobs. When beautiful Skylar Rossaria approaches him to break a prisoner out of the Collective’s maximum security prison on Trakis One, Rico jumps at the chance. Being hunted by the Collective has never been so dangerous–or so fun!

Break Out by Nina Croft is a paranormal sci-fi symphony! It is a literary fantasy set in the future that is believable and imaginative. Croft sets these two genres up in an unbelievable story of a space traveling vamp, altered humans, and the forces at play. The story carries you through space with characters who all have a story to be told. An exciting new world appears before your eyes, compelling you to read through the night. Rico will captivate you with his suave, commanding, and sexy ways. Skylar and Rico's connection will heat this story to it's core as we travel deep into the abyss of space. Croft blends the elements of science fiction and paranormal to create a world worthy of reading about.   I hope to read book two, Deadly Pursuit next, I have great expectations for it.  Will Croft answer all our unanswered questions? What are the Collective's plans? What will Jonny do now that he's awake? Who is Al? More importantly, if there are vamps in space, could we hope to find werewolves, too?  I'll let you know!
