Book 1 in the Occult Crimes Unit Investigation series

His name is Stan Markowski and he carries a badge.   His is part of the Occult Crime Unit, Police in Scranton, PA. It’s like no Pennsylvania you’ve every seen or heard of.  That’s right, take everything you think you know about Pennsylvania and throw it out with the window.  This is not your grandma’s Scranton, it is certifiably Spooksville.  You’ll find it all here, if it’s supernatural free for all you’re in need of, you’ve come to the right place.

Stan Markowski is a Detective Sergeant on the Scranton PD's Supernatural Crimes Investigation Unit his job is to keep the “supes” in line and make sure they follow the laws. When things go wrong he’s the one they call.

I gave this book a 4

4stars

Série Noire! Anomalous!  Paranormal Crime Buster!  Welcome to Scranton, your tour guide will be Det. Stan Markowski, you will be led through the dark, shadowy world of Scranton crime.  Stan Markowski will speak to you, he will draw you into his world, a world that is extrinsic and fascinating. Hard Spell by Justin Gustainis makes you believe in an alternate world of weirdoes.  HS is full of facetiousness with specks of pop culture.  Justin’s hold on detail and his ability to draw in the reader is what makes this book a keeper. Gustainis  has brought us a new urban fantasy with a noiresque crime world. Hard Spell was a deviation from my usual fare of urban fantasy, but I’m so glad I chose to to take a bite.  I really look forward to book 2.
