A. I used to read a book a day, but things change after having a baby...
Lately I read about three books a week and they can be hard copies or digital copies.
This week's question comes from Britta who blogs at I Like These Books:
Q. "What book-to-movie adaption have you most liked? Which have you disliked?"
A. I know I'm going to get a lot of flack for my answer, but here goes....
NONE! I don't want the incredible picture I've created in my mind, when reading a book, to be replaced by someone else's vision. It sounds weird but I feel that if a series was made of one of my fave books, they could never do it justice.
I do agree with you that the film version never meets my expectations from the novel. I usually force myself to look at the two as separate entities and the movie is only "loosely" based on the novel.

Jessica@a GREAT read
Let’s kick off Memorial Day Weekend with some scandal and controversy.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved every minute of the Lord of the Rings films and felt they hit the mark when they brought Tolkien’s masterpiece to the big screen.
(ducking as rotten tomatoes are thrown at me as the torches are lit and the pitchforks raised)
Wait, wait. I can explain! Hop on over to my blog and hear me out – http://www.howardsherman.net

Hey
ReplyDeleteI'd have to agree, i hate it when they adapt my favourite books. It's always not what you pictured.
Hopping by from FF.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm always really nervous if I go see a movie adaptation of my favorite book, it's just a given that most movies do not do the book justice...
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I understand your thinking about film adaptations. I always have a love/hate relationship with them. I love that they come to life, but I hate how distorted they are from the way I imagine things.
ReplyDeleteNone? Oh my!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! Have an amazing week!
Hopping back your way! I have a weird can't-look-away-must-see-them attitude to film adaptations of books! Most are incredibly awful.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there have been ones (few) that I've enjoyed, but I confess I can't think of any right now.
On the book-to-tv adaptations front, though, I think A Game of Thrones is fantastic so far. Although, I'd swap the actors for Jon Snow and Robb Stark around in a second!
